The J Crew Italian Wool Coats

I have two Cocoon Coats, in aqua and coral and a Lady Day Topcoat in brown. I would buy them in every color, if I had endless closets (and bank accounts)! I have had one for 12 years and two for 6-7 years. They are still making them, they are best sellers and always make you look smashing! Just wear all black underneath (or any solid color) and they ARE the outfit.

I could probably write a post JUST about the Cocoon coat. It’s been a best seller for them for 10 years. When I wear mine I always get compliments or asked about them. The zipper is warmer than buttons, and the collar is high and warm. It’s a roomy coat, so you can wear a heavy layer underneath if needed. And it looks great with everything.

My second favorite in this series is the Lady Day coat, which is more fitted and dressy. But you put this on with jeans and boots and gloves and a great scarf? You are toasty warm and DRESSED girlfriend!

The newest versions are the Villa Coat, The Chateau Parka and the Evening Blazer Jacket. And J Crew is having a super sale right now!

The Lululemon running gloves

These are great to keep in your purse or car, for when it’s colder than you think out there, or when your steering wheel is freezing! And of course when you go for a run or a walk, or to walk the dog - they are great. They are not bulky but nice and warm. And washable.

Uggs Ansley Slippers

The warmest and softest ever. I wear these all fall and winter. And spring. If I’m at home, I’m typically in these, or barefoot. They are either next to my bed, or on me. They have a sturdy rubber sole for walks to get the mail or bring in the recycling. So comfy. And not too expensive - especially given that they last several years and are worn 275 days a year. They come in lots of colors, but I like black because it doesn’t show how dingy they get, after being worn constantly.

Annie Selke’s Sheepy Fleece Robe

To know me is to know my robe. I am in my robe. A LOT. It’s my most comfy thing to wear. I wear it ENTIRELY too much. Oh well. I wear my favorite Turkish Towel Robes from May to September. I love them too. But when it’s cold out - nothing beats this for cozy. I like the darker colors, again, because they don’t show dirt or stains, which are inevitable, when you live in something. It washes well too.

Anthro Sophie Faux Fir Throw

I do love texture and this is so fun on the bed in the winter. I have this in white, on my bed and it is the softest, warmest thing ever. I love it. I always keep throws on the beds. Good for napping or just plain chilliness. I switch out from the regular throw on my bed to this one in the winter. I used to spend a lot of time in the bed, when I was having weekly migraines, and I wish had had this back then. Every year they come out in different patterns and colors.

R + F Lip Renewing Serum

Ok - this stuff is amazing. It’s good year round, but especially in the winter. It comes in a jar of 60 and they are tiny little capsules with gel that feels wonderful on my lips. I put it on right before bed and my lips feel amazing when I wake up. I don’t have dry, flaky lips anymore. Good stuff. (And I have a great R+F consultant if you need one!)

Athleta Polartec Leggings

These are also wonderfully soft and warm. They look great, they wash well and last a long time! The only reason I retired my first pair to wintry yard work, is that I got paint on them! I am on my second pair. I’ve been wearing them for four or five years. The warmest errand pants you can get for the freezing cold grocery store parking lot, or for the Christmas tree lot. Or walking the dog or a run. Or a walk. Can’t say enough. Pair them with the Lululemon gloves!

M Gemi Cherchio suede Shearling Sneakers

This was a stretch so I asked for these for Christmas one year. Probably 4-5 years ago. I still have the same pair, they still look new(ish) and are still warm beyond belief and incredibly soft. They are on heavy rotation from November through early April. No socks needed. No socks wanted. “Dear Santa, I’ve been a very good girl this year…..”

Waleda Skin Food

I talked about this last winter. This is great for really dry skin. It is very thick and you don’t put it on wet or damp skin. Your skin needs to be dry and then start with a small amount until you get used to the consistency. It’s got herbal ingredients as well as plant oils and beeswax. I believe it is a pretty clean product, no parabens or phthalates. The company was started in 1921 in Switzerland. Get it at the grocery store. Excellent for rough hands or feet. I also use it as cuticle cream.

Mango Quilted Full Length Puffer Coat

This is a shawl collar full length coat that I picked up for $90. It is ultra lightweight and ultra warm. As opposed to my Eddie Bauer version with the faux fur hood that is heavy and stiff and cost 2 1/2 times that! I wish I could find the same coat for you, but it’s not out there this year. Above are the closest things I could find. But the collar on the coat is so warm. No wind blowing down your neck!
