Summer Finds You Will Love, Vol. 1
You’re getting warmer…
It’s that time of year ladies. Most of us really don’t want to put on a swimsuit nor shorts, but sometimes ya gotta. Especially at a fabulous resort pool or a sandy beach. So you want to look attractive and have all your parts secured! (I cannot believe cut-outs are still a thing.) Take a wrong turn and you have a play dough factory situation.
Here we are in search of the attractive and the suitable. There are vericose veins, crepey arms, age spots and more. What’s a girl to do? It’s hot out there and we want to look good…
I’ve found some great things for your next trip, the neighborhood club or your backyard pool if you are so lucky!
Take a deep breath and enjoy my summer shop for ladies over 55!

A great classic pareo. Comes in several colors.
This is killer. A button down front that doubles as part of your evening look the night before the pool! It has matching pants too.
Another pretty sarong, this one from Anthro. I found several really pretty sarongs. I love the idea of wearing these as a skirt with just a white tee and sandals, for lunch nearby or even to dinner after your day in the sun.
These lightweight cotton sarongs from Julia Amory have a matching shirt, for a gorgeous look. You could wear it out the day before, and then you have two coverups.

Another high neck suit from Gottex. Comes in several options.
This cute gingham bottom would be great with any black tankini top or rash guard! It is not a low leg, though. Do those legs come with it?

Another pretty coverup/dress from Sunshine Tienda. It would be a pretty duster over a tee and white jeans!
From Erin Gates’ collection for Kassatex. Beautiful sarongs in two pretty colors.
I found so many pretty sarongs and pareos. What’s the difference?
Sarongs originated in Indonesia and are warn more as clothing and pareos came from French Polynesia and are more for resort wear. But they are now interchangeable.
Everyone I know has seen me in this. It is one of the most comfortable things I own. It is on the pricey side, but I have worn it for 8 years. The price per wear might be $3. A great piece and packs like a dream. Wear it to dinner the night before and it’s your pool coverup for the rest of the week.

This is a good looking linen short from BR. If it’s too short for you, they also have a longer bermuda short. I’m bummed - J Crew didn’t make my favorite short this year.
